In brief

Only a few industries develop in such a heterogeneous manner as the construction materials industry. While the mortgage crises in the USA and UK have a negative impact on the industry, business in Eastern Europe is booming. The construction industry in the East profits mainly from a shortage of living space. In Russia, for instance, the need for living space will nearly triple over the next 20 years.
In Germany, non-residential construction is developing positively, but residential construction is in a steady decline.
